K-9 Unit Helps Bust Drug Distributor In Maryland: Sheriff's Office

Specialty units were called in to assist detectives from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office to arrest a man who was busted with cash and drugs, authorities announced.

Tall Timbers resident Kenneth Markell Chase, 49, was apprehended by investigators late on Wednesday, Aug. 24 following an investigation into suspected drug distribution throughout the region, according to officials.

Detectives from the sheriff’s office Vice Narcotics Division, along with members of the Emergency Service Team and K-9 Unit executed a search and seizure warrant in the 17800 block of 2nd Street in Tall Timbers.

During the execution of the warrant, investigators said that they recovered an undisclosed amount of cash and suspected Suboxone.

Chase was taken into custody without incident and charged with Controlled Dangerous Substances (CDS): Possession with intent to distribute, and CDS: Possession of not marijuana. 

No court date for Chase has been announced.
